JILLIAN MILANES
JCM Postdoctoral Researcher
Jillian Milanes graduated from Clemson University in 2016 with a BS in Biochemistry. She then became a lab manager in the James Morris lab and fell in love with drug discovery, leading her to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology studying drug discovery in Naegleria fowleri, .which she completed in 2023. She was also a recipient of the Call Me Doctor Fellowship for underrepresented STEM doctoral students and College of SCIENCE Outstanding Graduate Student in Discovery.
Carrie Baumgardner
JCM PhD Student
Carrie Baumgarder attended Wingate University and received a BS in biology and chemistry. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Biophysics at Clemson University. She is a graduate student in the lab of Dr. James Morris where she studies the metabolic pathways in Leishmania using biosensors.
Sabrina Sutton Pizarro

Sabrina Sutton studied at North Greenville University where she completed her BS in Biology in 2019. She is now pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and is working to understand metabolite movement within Trypanosoma brucei.
Colm Roster

Colm Roster attended the State University of New York at Fredonia where he completed his BS in Molecular Genetics. He is now pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and is working to understand glycolytic inhibitors of Trypanosoma brucei, and trans gene expression in Naegleria fowleri.
Niharikha Mukala

Niharikha attended Andhra University where she majored in biotechnology, microbiology, and chemistry (BMC). She is working on identifying novel SET proteins in Trypanosoma brucei mitochondria.
Caroline Palmentiero

Caroline attended Clemson University where she completed her BS in Microbiology and minored in Biochemistry. She is now pursuing her PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and is working with compound screening and genetic manipulation in the pathogenic free-living amoeba Naegleria fowleri.

In addition to serving as lab manager, he is now pursuing his MS in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. He is currently working on glycosome staining and genetic manipulation in Trypanosoma brucei.
